Why MI will win IPL 2026: Five World Cup Final players. The most experienced title-winning franchise in IPL history. Jasprit Bumrah — the Player of the Match in the T20 World Cup 2026 Final — is arguably the most unplayable bowler in T20 cricket right now. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have been among the best T20 batters in the world for two years straight. Hardik Pandya as an all-rounder at number six is a luxury no other team has.

The only genuine concern is workload. Five players coming straight from a gruelling T20 World Cup campaign with barely a two-week break before IPL begins. In the first few games, some rust is expected. But once MI hit their stride — and they always do — they are going to be very, very difficult to stop.

Biggest threat to MI: An early injury to Bumrah. If he misses even 4-5 matches, MI's bowling becomes significantly weaker.

Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna form one of the strongest pace attacks in IPL history. No glaring weakness anywhere.

Matthew Hayden joining as batting coach is a significant appointment — Hayden has an outstanding record of improving batting units in T20 cricket. Under head coach Ashish Nehra, GT already have excellent tactical management. Adding Hayden elevates that further.

The knock on GT has always been that they underperformed expectations in recent seasons after their brilliant 2022 and 2023 campaigns. But with this squad and this coaching staff, that argument does not hold in 2026.

Their weakness is also their strength — they are all-or-nothing. When SRH bat first and post 220+, they are almost unbeatable. But when their top order fails early, they can collapse dramatically. The fine margins of a long IPL season can expose that inconsistency.

SRH title odds: 10% — capable of winning any single match in the tournament, but inconsistency across 14 games is their risk.
